Property Walk — Identify what stays, what goes, and any hazards.
Permit Check — Some clearing requires county or ODF notification — we’ll handle the paperwork side.
Mulch Brush & Small Trees — Forestry mulcher takes brush and trees up to 8″ or so in place.
Remove Larger Trees — Excavator with thumb or chainsaw crew for bigger timber.
Grind or Pull Stumps — Below grade so you can mow, grade, or build.
Final Cleanup — Haul off, burn (where permitted), or spread mulch on site.

What is fuel reduction?

Fuel reduction is the removal of vegetation that would otherwise feed a wildfire — brush, small trees, dead standing timber, and "ladder fuels" that carry fire from the ground into tree canopies. Most Southern Oregon insurers and ODF guidelines call for 100 feet of defensible space around structures.

Do you remove stumps, or just cut trees down?

Both. We can either grind stumps below grade (so you can mow over them) or pull them with the excavator if you want them fully removed. Pricing varies depending on which you need.

Can you prep land for building?

Yes. We clear, grub, and rough-grade lots for new construction. Often paired with our soil grading service for finish prep — /services/soil-grading/

Do I need a permit to clear my land?

Small-scale clearing usually doesn't, but larger clearing — especially near streams, wetlands, or steep slopes — can trigger ODF notification, county requirements, or DEQ rules. We'll check before we start.

What do you do with all the brush and trees?

Three options depending on the job: forestry mulcher grinds it into mulch that stays on site, we haul it off to a yard, or we pile and burn it, where burn permits allow. Most clients prefer mulching for cost and soil benefit.

Is forestry mulching better than burning or hauling?

For most fuel reduction work, yes. It's faster, cheaper, leaves the soil intact, and creates a mulch layer that suppresses regrowth. Burning has its place but is increasingly restricted in Southern Oregon.
